On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the English Department Student Association (EDSA) of UIN Ar-Raniry held the International Seminar English Education (ISSE) Vol. 3 at the university's Theater Hall, themed "Bridging Cultures, Embracing Change: From Cultural Differences to Global Understanding." The event featured speakers Mr. Ken Atkinson, Mr. George F. Ball, and Ms. Cali Atkinson, with Jana Safira Jarjani as moderator, and was attended by students and academic staff. Committee Chair Akrim Mufaddhil hoped the seminar would be a space where ideas and perspectives could meet rather than a one-way transfer of knowledge, while the Head of the English Education Study Program, Syarifah Dahliana, encouraged participants to see cultural differences as bridges rather than barriers. Vice Dean III Yusran also reminded attendees that English proficiency alone should not be treated as a measure of intelligence, and the event received support from Cinta Baca as its sponsor.

Care With EDSA
On January 31 – February 1, 2026, EDSA conducted a humanitarian visit to Pidie Jaya Regency to support communities affected by the flood disaster. This program was dedicated to delivering essential food supplies and school stationery, bringing care, encouragement, and hope to families and children in need.
Through this meaningful initiative, we strive not only to offer material assistance but also to nurture empathy, strengthen solidarity, and stand together with those facing difficult times. We believe that sincere compassion, no matter how small, can restore smiles and rebuild spirits.
May this journey remind us that humanity grows through helping one another, and may the spirit of giving continue to unite our hearts in kindness and gratitude.
EDSA Gelar Aksi Donasi dan Fun Learning untuk Korban Banjir Pidie Jaya
PBAK 2026
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, the English Department Student Association (EDSA) of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, held the Pengenalan Budaya Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan (PBAK) program for new students of the English Education Study Program class of 2026. Held at the parking area of Building B, the event served as an introduction to campus life, academic culture, and student organizations, helping freshmen understand their roles and responsibilities as members of the English Education family. The event opened with remarks from the Committee Chair, Rahmatullah H.S., who encouraged the new students to see their college years as a journey of both learning and self-development, reminding them that success comes through sincerity, hard work, and a willingness to keep growing. EDSA President for the 2026/2027 term, Al Faiz Rahmatillah, followed with a welcome address, emphasizing that university life is about more than academic achievement — it also means taking responsibility, working together, and contributing to society.
The program continued with a presentation from the Head of the English Education Study Program, Syarifah Dahliana, M.A., who introduced the department's profile, learning system, and the lecturers who would guide students throughout their studies, stressing that education here shapes character and readiness for the future as much as knowledge itself. The event also featured a sharing session with Ms. Lilis Su'adah from EducationUSA, an official service under the U.S. Department of State, who introduced free consultation services for students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States, covering university selection, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities. Through PBAK 2026, new students gained not only an introduction to academic and organizational life but also motivation to grow and broaden their perspectives on international education, with the English Education Study Program hoping the class of 2026 will carry forward a spirit of learning, responsibility, and positive contribution throughout their studies.

EDSA Inauguration
On 20th May 2026, the English Department Student Association (EDSA) officially inaugurated its 2026/2027 Executive Board at the SBSN Hall of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. Carrying the theme "A Journey to Lead, A Commitment to Grow," the event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the organization, emphasizing leadership, commitment, and personal growth while strengthening its role in supporting English Education students.
During the ceremony, the organizing committee, former EDSA president, and university representatives shared inspiring messages about responsibility, collaboration, and the importance of prioritizing meaningful contributions within student organizations. They encouraged the new board to embrace challenges, foster solidarity, and continue building a positive impact on both students and the surrounding community.
The newly elected EDSA President for the 2026/2027 term, Alfaiz Rahmatillah, reaffirmed his commitment to making EDSA a welcoming platform where English Education students can learn, develop their potential, collaborate, and build lasting relationships. He expressed his vision of creating an active, innovative, and inclusive organization that empowers every member.
With renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment to growth, EDSA aims to continue evolving into a progressive, inspiring, and impactful student organization.
