A New Chapter Begins

The Blessing Ceremony (BSC), traditionally known as Peusijuk, is a flagship annual event organized by the English Department Student Association (EDSA) of UIN Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. This event serves as a grand welcoming for the new students of the English Education Study Program (PBI), marking the official start of their academic journey.

Held on Sunday, May 12, 2025, against the scenic backdrop of Krueng Leupung Beach, Aceh Besar, this year’s ceremony embraced the empowering theme: “Together We Learn, Together We Grow, and A New Chapter Begins.”

The BSC 2025 was carefully curated to blend cultural reverence with modern student engagement. At the heart of the event was the sacred Peusijuk ritual, a traditional Acehnese blessing performed by the lecturers to offer prayers for the students' success and well-being. This spiritual foundation was complemented by a focus on leadership, marked by the democratic election of Muhammad Dzakhwan Fikhri as the Class Representative (Komting) for the Class of 2025. Throughout the day, students were inspired by words of wisdom from the faculty and alumni, including a powerful reminder from Mrs. Azizah to maintain character and ethics, and an encouraging message from Rusdi regarding the lifelong value of networking. Beyond these formalities, the beach came alive with creative group performances and team-building games, creating an atmosphere of joy that allowed students to express their talents while forging deep, lifelong friendships.
